The Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation (MCYAF) began in 2002 as a task force of representatives from community organizations who were concerned about the high rate of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use by our youth.
Since then, MCYAF has evolved into a
501(c) (3) non-profit organization. We understand that the complex problem of substance use demands multiple, proven effective, research-based solutions and a genuine partnership in the community to deploy these solutions in today’s environment.
MCYAF unites local organizations and social service agencies, law enforcement, schools, faith institutions, parents, and youth who share support for a common goal. MCYAF also provides leadership to change local laws and policies, raises community awareness, educates parents, and promotes programs and services that help youth become or remain substance-free.
Underage drinking is a public health and safety issue that may result in serious personal, social and economic consequences for adolescents and their families, our community and the nation as a whole. Read more.
We invite you to join us in our efforts for this worthwhile cause. There is no better investment you can make than in our youth.
