President's Message

Imagine a community where students celebrate sport victories, special events, and prom nights without alcohol.  Where adults model responsible behavior, offer safe places for teens to gather, and don't provide for or allow teen alcohol use.  Where youth are both invested in and actively engaged with a town that provides them with healthy choices and activities.  In this community, teens find peers and caring adults who help them enjoy life and solve problems without alcohol or drugs.  This is the world envisioned by MCYAF.

We are very fortunate to live in a community that offers so many resources, programs, and services to assist our children in making healthy decisions.  Maine Township has excellent schools, churches, agencies, and supportive parents that work together to ensure we provide the best possible environment for our children.  That's vital, because we all play a part in guiding our youth from childhood to adulthood.

If you've been touched by alcohol or drugs with someone you know or love, then you know that prevention can change lives.  As a community coalition, MCYAF is focused on preventing alcohol and drug use among our youth in Maine Township - before it becomes a problem.

MCYAF and its community partners will continue to educate and increase awareness around the issue of substance abuse with a goal of providing our residents, both youth and adults, with a foundation to make healthy choices.  Together we can prevent our children and our families from getting hurt by alcohol and drugs.
